June 17| KNOT CHALLENGE

June 17, 2019

DAYS: Monday
TIME: 7:15-8:45pm
INSTRUCTOR: Laura DiPasquale
DURATION: 1.5 hours
PRICE: $30
PRE-REQS: This workshop is geared towards Level 1 and 2 students.

DESCRIPTION:
Find your aerial style with improvisation in the fabric knot. The knot allows you to spend less energy holding yourself up and worrying about what's holding you in, leading to individual exploration and self-expression.

We'll start with learning a knot sequence and then work through challenges which will help you execute it in your own unique style.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Laura DiPasquale is an Austin based aerial teacher and performer. She began training in 2009, after being inspired by a live aerial performance. Wanting to share her joy for aerial arts, she began teaching in 2012 and became a certified instructor through Born to Fly. As a teacher, her aim is to help students build strong foundations in technique and safety while gaining self-confidence through movement. By working with highly respected aerialists throughout the country, Laura continually expands her own training and believes it is important to never stop learning. Performance highlights include The Tobin Center for Performing Arts Ghost Light Society and the annual Contemporary Arts Festival, Luminaria. She is excited to bring her passion to Blue Lapis Light.
