Jason Amato's 12 year professional career has supported local and international artists. He has toured with the Jose Greco II Flamenco Dance Company for several seasons. Mr. Amato is the Resident Lighting Designer for Sally Jacques, Zachary Scott Theatre, the VORTEX and Tapestry Dance Company. He has designed over 350 shows and received numerous awards for his designs. Some awards include: "Best Dazzler" in the Austin Chronicle's Critics' poll; B. Iden Payne Awards for his lighting of Triskelion, Panoptikon, Despair's Book of Dreams, and The Deluge; The 2004 Critic's Table Lighting award for Hair, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Limonade, and The Well Inside; 2005 Austin Critics Table Lighting Design for Cabaret, Omnium-Gatherum, Crowns, AIDA, Ghost From a Perfect Place, Where Nothing Falls II, St. Enid and the Black Hand, Sleeping Beauty. Amato recently won the 2006/07 Austin Critics Table Award for Best Lighting Design.
