Blue Lapis Light's Impermanence was included in two Top 9 lists in the Austin Chronicle:

#1 on the Top 9 Lasting Impressions in Dance From 2009 - "Four stories up, seemingly lit by phosphorescence against the infinity of night, harnessed dancers floated through perpendicular somersaults like rotating stars. Spectacle, yes, but the pinnacle of spectacle: the creation of an engrossing otherworld."

#6 on the Top 9 Dance and Classical Music Treasures of 2009 - "In sending more aerial dancers skyward than ever before and having more of them partner together, choreographer Sally Jacques created new wonders in the heavens, airborne duets that intertwined mortality and infinity."

Sally Jacques is featured in the recently released book Site Dance: Choreographers and the Lure of Alternative Spaces

MAYA THERESA KAOUGH remembers leaping paper lily pads in a Ballet Austin studio as the beginning of her formal movement study.  An Austin native, she continued her training with Slavin Nadal School of Ballet.  With the Austin Youth Eurythmy Troupe, Maya performed and toured during high school, and subsequently helped to found the Austin Summer Eurythmy Academy, an intensive Eurythmy performance training, directed by Markus and Andrea Weder.  With the Summer Academy she performed in Sao Paulo, Brazil (2004), Dornach, Switzerland (2005), Carbondale, Colorado (2006) and Cape Town, South Africa (2007).  She holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from Rice University, and danced with Rice Dance Theater, studied choreography and the classical Indian dance Bharatanatyam during her time at Rice.  Her own training in aerial arts began in February 2008 with Fragmentos Productions in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and she is delighted and honored to be able to continue her study and performance of aerial dance with Blue Lapis Light.
